Shitai County Guniujiang National Nature Reserve holds 2024 "World Wildlife Day" promotion event

March 3, 2024 is the eleventh "World Wildlife Day", and the theme of this year's event is "Building a Smart Protection System for Wildlife and Plants". On March 4, the "World Wildlife Day" in 2024, co-sponsored by the Forestry Science and Technology Branch directly under the NLD Anhui Province, Shitai County Forestry Bureau, and Shitai Management Station of Guniujiang National Nature Reserve, was successfully held in Shitai County Zhanda Central School and Great Performance Center School.
During the activity, the chairman of the Forestry Science and Technology Branch directly under the Anhui Provincial Committee of the China Democratic League presented books related to the protection of animals and plants to the school. The leaders participating in the activity presented school supplies to student representatives. Then, under the leadership of popular science teachers, students visited the publicity exhibition boards for the protection of animals and plants in the Guniujiang Nature Reserve, bird models and bird photography exhibitions. After the exhibition, experts from the Forestry Science and Technology Branch directly under the Anhui Provincial Committee of the China Democratic League gave students a vivid and rich class on the protection of wild animals and plants in a way with pictures and texts from five aspects: the classification of objects in nature, the evolution of organisms, the animal and plant resources of the whole province, why to protect and how to participate in protection.
The purpose of holding this event is to further raise young people's awareness of wildlife protection, encourage them to actively participate in wildlife protection actions, strengthen ecosystem protection and restoration, and strive to build a beautiful home where humans and nature coexist in harmony.
